There are artists who make music and artists who build legacies. Don Baba has always been doing the latter, even when no one was paying attention.
A Rexdale native and Remix Project alumni, Don Baba has been putting in documented work since before most Toronto independent artists had a release strategy. Over the course of his career he has released two EPs, over 40 songs, 13 music videos, and appeared in an independent film. The numbers are real. The catalog is real. And the story behind it is one of the most genuine in Toronto Hip-Hop.

His 2020 EP North Side Don announced exactly who he was. Get It In, Magnificent, Gotta Make It, and Water Whippin, four tracks that captured the Rexdale perspective with clarity and confidence. No features needed. No industry cosign required. Just Don Baba and a point of view sharp enough to cut through.
Facts Over Feelings Vol. 1 in 2021 showed growth. The five track project, Ambition, Trust Nobody, So Sad, Pink Dior, and Add It Up, demonstrated an artist refining his sound and expanding his emotional range without losing the core of what makes him distinctive. Pink Dior in particular became one of his most recognized records, a visual that connected with audiences far beyond Toronto.
Beyond the music, Don Baba made his film debut in Me and You, an independent production through Project of Stars, winning a Film Stars Award for Best Supporting Actor. His clip from the film has reached over 10,000 people worldwide and continues to grow. That crossover between music and visual storytelling is not an accident. It is the mark of an artist who understands that a career is built on more than one lane.
His followers are growing. His shows draw real support. His catalog is deep enough to sustain a long career. Prime Example Records is proud to have been part of his journey and looks forward to what comes next.

Don Baba is not an overnight story. He is a decade in the making. And the best is still ahead.
